Dr. Laskowski is President and Chief Executive Officer of Christiana Care Health System in Wilmington, Delaware, overseeing administration and operation of the state's third largest private employer, which includes two teaching hospitals (1,100 beds), a 108-bed long-term and transitional care facility, a preventive medicine institute, a home health care organization, a community-based outpatient cancer center, a nationally recognized Center for Heart & Vascular Health and a full host of hospital and community-based, health-related services.
Prior Experience
Dr. Laskowski comes to Christiana Care most recently from Lehigh Valley Hospital and Health Network in Allentown, Pennsylvania, where he was chief medical officer with overall responsibility for clinical program development and operations. Prior to joining Lehigh Valley, he was group medical director and president of Northeast Permanente Medical Group and associate regional medical director of the Northeast Region, Kaiser Permanente.
Education and Awards
A board-certified internist specializing in geriatric medicine, Dr. Laskowski is a Professor of Medicine on the faculty of Jefferson Medical College at Thomas Jefferson University. He was an associate professor of medicine, an associate professor of Health Evaluative Sciences and an associate dean for Medical Education at Penn State University College of Medicine. He is a graduate of the University of Pennsylvania School of Medicine and has an MBA from the Wharton School. He did his post-medical school residency training in Internal Medicine at the University of Chicago Hospitals and Clinics, served a Fellowship in general internal medicine at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania, and was a Robert Wood Johnson Foundation clinical scholar and a Senior Fellow at the Leonard Davis Institute of Health Economics at the University of Pennsylvania.
Boards
He serves on the American Hospital Association Health Care Systems Governing Council; on the Health Management Academy Chief Executive Officers Forum; on the Delaware Healthcare Association Board of Directors and on the American Medical Association Section on Medical Schools. He is a member of the Board of Directors for Christiana Care, the United Way of Delaware, Delaware Public Policy Institute and the Wilmington Renaissance Corporation and he is currently vice chair of the Delaware Business Roundtable Executive Committee.
